Harvesting the Peyote
The above-ground green head of the Peyote contains the most Mescaline.
The underground white root contains little to no Mescaline.
Therefore, it is best to cut off the above-ground green head of the Peyote plant and eat it later.
Leave the white root in the pot so that the white peyote root can continue to grow and make new heads.

Drying the Peyote buttons
The cut Peyote buttons (Peyote buds) were and are first dried by Indians and Peyoteros.
So that the Peyote buttons can be kept longer.
Nowadays, Peyoteros (official Peyote collectors) dry the Peyote buttons on large trays with a mesh bottom.
