3. SWITCHED MESCALINE CACTI ONLINE
|
3.1. Non-looking photos at Smartshops on the internet
We regularly see pictures in online Smartshops that look absolutely nothing like the Mescaline Cactus listed.
We also see this at Smartshops that are our customers, where we can have a good look at the Cactus in real life !
In real life, the Mescaline Cactus offered then also turns out to be a different kind of Cactus.
Usually a Cactus without Mescaline .....
3.2. Reactions on forums on the internet
On forums of Smartshops and of mind-altering drugs, we see reactions of customers who doubt whether the right species has been supplied.
The Smartshop then replies e.g. that their supplier knows a lot about it, and that it really is the right strain.
But such a customer may well be right, because .....
after all, we saw those ‘wrong’ varieties in the warehouse around that time !
Also as recently as July 2011, also at a very well-known online Smartshop !

4. LACK OF THOROUGH KNOWLEDGE ABOUT MESCALINE CACTI
|
Little is known in the literature on cacti about the 60 different species of Trichocereus (Echinopsis).
Species many of which resemble each other, which only a Trichocereus connoisseur can tell apart.
Connoisseurs of the genus Trichocereus are very few in the world, precisely because good info is hard to come by.
4.1 A layman does not even see major differences.
There are many crosses between Trichocereus species in culture and in nature.
People have also taken species from nature and planted them in their own habitat.
This makes it uncertain where the original growing area of a Trichocereus species was.
4.2 Lack of thorough knowledge about Mescaline Cacti among Suppliers
The supplier of a Smartshop lacks thorough knowledge of Mescaline Cactus species.
Suppliers are often Cactus growers (hobbyist or otherwise), where little is known about Mescaline Cacti.
Thereby, little information is generally known about the columnar Trichocereus species.
So either he knows too little about Mescaline Cactus species, or he deliberately supplies the wrong Cactus species.
4.3 Lack of thorough knowledge about Mescaline Cacti at Smartshops
There is usually a lack of thorough knowledge about the species and care.
Wrong species are sometimes sold for years .....
Or are sold out before they are taken off the website.
4.4 Lack of thorough knowledge about Mescaline Cacti among Smartshop customers
There is usually a lack of thorough knowledge about species, care, and use.
